Lowick School Bunkhouse offers fantastic group accommodation in the Lake District. The bunkhouse has 22 beds in 3 rooms (1 x 10, 1 x 8 + 1 x 4) plus a lounge/meeting room with wood-burning stove, a fab kitchen-dining room, great views of the mountains, an outdoor area with campfire and more!

All groups staying in the bunkhouse must be doing an organized activity during their stay. This can be organized by your sports club, canoeing or archery for a small group can be organized with us or can be with an external provider. Stag and Hen groups must show evidence of an activity booked with an external provider for their booking to be upheld.

Location

Lowick School Bunkhouse is within the old primary school in Lowick Green nestled between Coniston (9 miles) and Ulverston (6 miles) within the Lake District National Park, Cumbria. We are 25 mins drive from junction 36 of the M6 and only 4 miles from Coniston Water. It is less than a mile to 2 pubs – either a pleasant walk down a back lane to the Red Lion or down the main road to the Farmers Arms.

What’s inside?

The kitchen-diner has plenty of work top space and open shelving for you to store your food. All the crockery, cutlery, pans and utensils you need plus a range cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer, toaster and large sink. The dining space has tables plus stacking chairs.

The lounge/meeting room has the all-important wood burning stove, double height ceiling, sofas, screen, table football, white board and more stackable chairs.

Bedrooms all have a chalet feel with purpose built solid bunkbeds. A mattress is provided and groups should bring sleeping bags and pillows. There are male and female toilets and showers, though these will be open to all should the group be single sex.
