Open Canoeing

Open-canoeing or Canadian-canoeing uses wide stable boats and is a little like being in a rowing boat. They are easy to propel (unlike rowing boats!) and with a little instruction, mastered in no time.

Our open canoes are extra wide for more room, and are especially designed to be extra stable and go in a straight line easily. When canoeing you won’t go into the water unless you want to and there’s none of that tippy feeling you get with some boats.

We don’t think there is a better way to take a journey on a lake - there are so many advantages. Experience a completely different view, getaway from the crowds and traffic, get close to wildlife and for walkers - it’s a rest for the legs.

Canoe-Sailing

For canoe-sailing the boats are securely rafted together to form a catamaran on which a mast and sail can be raised. Then its time to sit back and let the wind do the work, no leaning out, just plain sailing! This activity is wind dependent and if there isn’t any wind a regular canoeing session will be provided.
