"Give it a go" Days
A Half Day Archery
Archery is a great activity to take part in during your stay in the Lake District. Archery allows you to appreciate the true beauty of the countryside whilst having fun shooting some arrows!
Depending on whether or not you have taken part in Archery before, we can provide a taster session to provide basic skills of the game, as well as sharpening up your Archery technique. There are numerous games and competitions that can be fully enjoyed whilst breathing in the fresh air. Aiming games, scoring competitions and the Holiday Game get everybody involved and allow lots of practice to get you shooting towards the centre of the target…which is the main goal after all!

Half Day Raft Building
Raft Building is a ½ day activity (i.e. a morning or an afternoon) that takes place on a lake – we usually use Coniston Water, so nice fresh Lake District water! We provide wetsuits, buoyancy aids and all the equipment required to create a raft(s) and test its prowess on the water. The first section of the session allows your team to design your raft to ensure streamlining, speed and robustness. Once our instructors have given you bits of advice to ensure knots in the rope are tight etc., it will be time to get wet! The second section of the session is all about having as much fun as you can through races, tugs of war and little challenges so test the rafts overall. Raft Building lends itself excellently to large groups that like a bit of competition.

Half Day Church Beck Gorge Walking
Church Beck Gorge is a really fun half day session, with 2 jumps in to deep pools, a trust fall, 2 rigged climbs through waterfalls, and finished off with climbing through a 10 meter long waterfall! We fully recommend this as a fun Gorge Walk with loads of challenges throughout.
This activity day involves some or all of the following activities:
Stickle Ghyll Gorge Walk
The Stickle Ghyll Gorge Walk begins at the Stickle Barn Tavern, located in and amongst the stunning Langdale Pikes. This Gorge Walk is known for being quite wide, which makes it great for the younger children to take advantage of walking around the waterfalls rather than climbing through them. The largest climb available in Stickle Ghyll is 15 meters high. If you would like to make the day a little more challenging, Stickle Ghyll can be taken as a full day Gorge Walk, where you explore further up through the Gorge to reach Stickle Tarn. The tarn can be enjoyed with a relaxing swim at the end as a reward. The fresh mountain water on this Gorge Walk can be fully appreciated when coupled with an exciting climb around Lower Scout, for the other half of the day.

Tilberthwaite Half Day Gorge Walking
A typical Lake District environment of green fields, farms full of sheep and a beautiful silvery slate at the foot of sheer rock faces and the ghyll, perfectly describes Tilberthwaite. The Gorge Walk here is very much climbing-based which means there are generally lower water levels. However this does not rule out the opportunity to climb through waterfalls and enjoy the fresh mountain water. Tilberthwaite gorge offers you a great journey where you discover parts of the Gorge that you would not otherwise be able to even imagine at the starting point.

Rydal Beck Gorge Walking
Rydal Beck is known for its high water levels resulting in many waterfalls and pools to have an excellent swim in. This gorge walk involves canyonning down a natural rock flume in to a pool and scrambling through the beautiful landscape. There aren't any rigged climbs in this gorge which means that you are constantly on the move with no waiting around. A great opportunity to spend a full day with a large group!

Half Day Whitestones Climbing
Located near to Newby Bridge in the Lake District, Whitestones offers an adventurous and rewarding collection of routes for climbing. Starting with a 10 minute walk over a small stream and a scramble towards the crag, that is when you can begin learning basic climbing skills, such as belaying, holding ropes for each other and doing some single pitch climbs. You soon reach a height which allows you to admire the views, and feel a great sense of achievement. Due to the variety of different routes available, Whitestones lends itself well to smaller as well as larger groups, and younger children or more experienced climbers.

Half Day Climbing at Brown Howe
Our climbing venue at Brown Howe in Coniston provides groups with a secluded quarry with real rock as a great basis for beginner Climbing. Brown Howe generally lends itself well to younger children who can work their way up to larger climbs throughout the session as they feel more competent. There is a range of areas on the slab that give the group options of difficulty and challenge. Brown Howe is in a great location to allow Canoeing, Raft Building and Kayaking as the other half day session, just 5 minutes away from the beach.
