Directions to Ferry Nab Car Park Bowness on Windermere
From The North On M6
From the north on M6 Exit M6 at junction 40, take the A66 West (Away from Penrith) until you come to a round about take the first exit onto the A592 (Kirkstone Pass) follow this along the Ullswater and down the Troutbeck valley. Where it meets the main A591 road between Kendal and Ambleside there is a mini-roundabout. Go straight across and follow the road to Bowness (A592 still). In the centre of Bowness is another mini-roundabout - turn right here and follow the road past the waterfront and for about another 1/2 mile to ferry nab (signposted ferry to Hawkshead and public slipway) turn right down this road. The pay and display car park is on the right. Your instructor will meet you next to the café at the top of the car park.
From The South on M6
Come off the M6 at junction 36 follow the A590 to the round about. Take the first exit (B5284) sign posted Hawkshead via ferry. Continue along the road passing pound farm campsite and Windermere golf club. Eventually you reach a cross road continue straight across the cross roads down the hill to the main road. Take a right out of the junction shortly followed by a left turn following signs for ferry. Continue approximately 400m and take a right into the pay and display car park. Your instructor will meet you next to the café at the top of the car park.
From Ambleside
Take the A591 south out of Ambleside following signs for Windermere and Kendal passing Whitecross Bay and Troutbeck bridge. Remain on the A591 until you meet a mini round about. Take the third exit (A592) sign posted Bowness. In the centre of Bowness is another mini-roundabout - turn right here and follow the road past the waterfront and for about another 1/2 mile to ferry nab (signposted ferry to Hawkshead and public slipway) turn right down this road. The pay and display car park is on the right. Your instructor will meet you next to the café at the top of the car park.
